Senior Career Advisor
Martin has over 30 year’s front line professional management, recruiting, hiring and de-hiring experience in private, government and public sectors. His background includes 5 years at Execusearch, a national management recruiting firm located in Toronto. He has worked with a number of clients/ employers including Harper Collins publishing group, Penguin publishing group Ltd. and Xerox Canada, to successfully recruit their senior level management teams. Martin later joined Collins Publishers as National Sales Manager.
Recruited by Bantam Doubleday Dell publishing group (Random House) as Regional Sales Manager (Eastern Canada), he was later promoted to Director, Diversified Sales Canada for all divisions. He later established his own publishing company, Thomas Martin Publishers, Ltd. Martin also founded the Stratford Montessori School in Stratford, Ontario one year later.
Martin eventually came to the realization that he wanted to contribute more. He now understands his life purpose which is ‘Helping individuals discover their purpose and express their calling’. Martin has facilitated hundreds of downsized, fired, outplaced, career transitioned professionals through the process of navigating career change via creative job search programs. He has written job search manuals for HRDC, designed customer service programs and has provided individuals with work search programs based on their own personality traits. He has business contacts throughout the country and around the globe.
Martin has been on contract with Human Resources Development Canada, (HRDC), and Drake Beam Morin (DBM) and has had his own career transition company. He is excited about his senior career advisor role with Capstone Career Solutions.
An active soccer player, he is on the executive of the local soccer association. A recognized potter he has instructed and has artistic pieces throughout various galleries in Ontario. An elder at his local church, he has involved himself in humanitarian efforts such as the Disaster Relief effort at Biloxi, Mississippi from hurricane Katrina. He is committed to making a difference in the lives of others.
